Our President, Duncan McPhedran, was invited to participate in a “Mission” hosted by Nexen Energy and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in Beijing, China. It was BGES’s honour to be one of 33 Canadian businesses attending this noteworthy international event.
The purpose of this “Mission” was to bring Canadian and Chinese companies together to explore opportunities for future collaboration. Canada has an enviable reputation worldwide as a superior supplier of oil and gas equipment, technologies and services. China’s remarkable growth is driving the global demand for natural resources and is redefining the Canada-China energy relationship. In the series of meetings, Duncan had the opportunity to present the idea of bringing a project-style approach encompassing wireline, engineering and geosciences services to the Chinese oilfield development, in particular, to Coal Bed Methane projects. This visit was truly a remarkable experience for BGES.
